RECOMMENDATION: Plant 16 - 2.5m high trees along the north edge of : cul-de-sac of Gordon ' south of the Lougheed at an estimated cost of $2,540. BACKGROUND & COMMENTS: Attached is a letter from the residents of 2520 - 2548 Gordon Ave. requesting that the Engineering Dept. install a fence or some type of barrier between the cul-de-sac of Gordon Ave. and the Lougheed Hwy. Presently there ig an open, grass area between the cul-de-sac and the Lougheed Hwy. The bottom of the sloped embankment is City property. There is approx. lm from the bottorn of the embankment to the edge of the cul-de-sac where trees could be planted on City property. Reason For Request The resident: ‘vould like the barrier to reduce noise from trucks along the Lougheed Hwy. COSTS The type of tree suggested by our City Gardener is a dense, fast-growing Red Cedar. The costs are as follows: Im high tree - $15 ea 2m high tree - $45 ea 2.5m high tree - $65 ea.
