Bylaw No. 2806 To rezone: Lot 419 Section 12 Township 39 Plan 42751 New Westminster District from RS-1 (Large Lot Residential) to RS-2 (Small Lot Residential) The property is located at 1609 Kent Avenue and would permit permit the development of two single family lots. Correspondence was received from G.M. and D. Lafleur, regarding their concem that smaller lots would cause a loss of the character of the neighbourhood. Correspondence was received from Michel Gendron, 3946 March Way, including an eight signature petition opposing the application for rezoning. Correpondence was received from Mrs. C. Warwick, 3843 Sefton Street, which also included a 79 signature petition opposing the application for rezoring. Also before Council was a petition from eight Kent Avenue area residents opposing the rezoning. Mr. G. Crowe, 1749 Myrtle Way spoke in favour of the rezoning, expressing the view that people have to expect growth, changing life styles dictate that small lots are what people can Maintain and can afford. Mrs. C. Dinsdale, 1621 Kent Avenue expressed concern with over development in the City, inquired as to what the setbacks are, what drainage would be provided, what will the design of the homes be. and what is to happen to the existing home. Mr. Ted Craiggs, 3852 Robin Place expressed concern that small lots will devalue his property. Mrs. C. Warwick, 3843 Sefton Street felt that small lots are not appropriate to the area, and expressed concems that the rezoning will devalue her property. Mr. Bagri, 1609 Kent Avenue, expressed concern that people who are buying this size of property believe it can be rezoned to RS-2, (Small Lot Residential). Mr. A. Cruickshank, 3836 Sefton Street, asked if the City does not make money on development, why are we doing it?
