SUBJECT: Speed Watch Program

The Engineering Dept. was recently contacted by Mr. Tony Cornford of
the Tri-City Speed Watch Program. This program has been set up to help
address traffic problems in the Tri-City area and has requested a list
of streets that the City would like monitored.

The Program is run by volunteers and is sponsored by the local
R.C.M.P. and I.C.B.C. With this program in place, the City may use the
monitoring device to address local residents concerns about speeding
in their neighborhoods. In the future, residents with complaints of
speeding in their neighborhood will be able to contact the program
directly. This alternative may alleviate some writing of letters to
the Engineering Dept for solutions to their local speeding problems

Attached igs a brochure on the program:and a list of streets with a
history of speeding problems.
