Eng., Deputy City Engineer That Council approve payment of $600 to the 1992 Pitch-In British Columbia Campaign for organization of cleanup services. That the Mayor declare the week of May 4, 1992 to May 10, 1992 as "Pitch-In Week". The Environmental Protection Committee considered a request for a $600 contribution from the City in support of 1992 Pitch-In British Columbia Campaign. "Pitch-In Week", which is held in May of each year, encourages organized litter pick up, clean up, and recycling programs throughout the Province. It is estimated that last year, over 500,000 BC residents actively participated in some part of the Pitch-In Campaign during the week of May 6, to 12, 1991. The Environmental Protection Committee strongly supports the Pitch-in Campaign and the Committee will be organizing a full Pitch-In Campaign throughout the City this Spring.
