The Architect shall render interpre- tations necessary for the proper execution or progress of the Work with reasonable promprmess on written request of either the Client or the Contractor, and shall render written decisions, within a rea- sonable time, on al{ claims, disputes and other matters in question between the Client and the Contractor relating to the execution or progress of the Work or the interpretation of the Contract Doc ments. the intenc of and reasonably inferable from the Contract Docy and shall be in written or graphic form. In the capacity of intérpreter and judge, the Architect shall endeavour to secure faithful ance by both the Client and the Contractor, shall not shoy’ partiality to either and shall not be liable for the result of any inteybretation or decision rendered in good faith in such capacity. The Architect shall have the authority to reject work/which does not conform to the Contract Documents. Whenever,An the Architect’s opinion, it is necessary or advisable for the implementation of the intent of che Contract Documents, the Architecy shall have authority to require special inspection or testing of the Wrk by others, whether or not such work has been fabricated, installéd or completed. The Architect shall review or take other appropriate action with rea- sonable promptness upon the Contractgf’s submittals such as shop drawings, product data, and samples, fgr conformance with the gen- eral design concept of the Work as inficated in the Contract Docu- ments. The Architect’s review of a specific item shall not indicate ac- cepcance of an assembly of which phe item is a component. The Architect shall prepare chapge orders for the Client’s approval and signature in accordance wjth the Contract Documents and shail have authority to order minof changes in the Work not involving an adjustment in the coneract price or an extension of che contract time which are consistent with fhe intent of the Contract Documents.
