A few days after Walter's workshop, Warren MacKenzie stepped up to the wheel. Warren apprenticed with Bernard Leach in St. Ives and was head of che Ceramics Department at the University of Minnesota for many years. He lives and works at his pottery on a farm near Sellwacer, Minnesota. He is a leading spokesperson for the functional pecter. Warten MacKence’s workshop emphasized form and surface of thrown work. He experimented with the creation of new surfaces to complement the form.
