The three panel sign is 4.5 metres (15 ft.) in height, not including the support structures.
The height to the top of the logo above the center panel will be 7.5 metres (25 ft.).

2. Building Code compliance is required for this sign structure.
3. Structural design to be submitted to the Building Department.

(Note: Issuance of this DVF is a prerequisite to the issuance of a Sign
Permit).

Sign should be kept clear of the 9 m Right-of-Way from the property line at this location to
allow for installation of services.

(Note: The sign was placed approximately 10.5 m from the property line
and clear of the Right-of-Way).

DISCUSSION:

As the site is over 17 acres in size, it is apparent that the maximum size and height for
development signs, as specified in the Sign Bylaw, is inadequate to properly market a project of
size.

The sign is of high quality and is located entirely on private property with a 10.5 metre
setback from property lines. The angling of the center panel ensure that driver sight lines are not

The proposed commercial development will be a significant addition to Port Coquitlam’s -
Downtown Cove. Given that the proposed sign is not permanent and is in an isolated location, 1t
is recommended that this application be supported subject to the conditions noted above.
