SELECTION COMMITTEE REPORT Following review of Gallery Selections Committee policy and function, a re- vised statement has been drawn up for reference by potenUal applicants and by the selections committec ftself. [t follows below. | SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS Six pieces or slides of same that give good indication of your work. Dimensions of work, date of completion and your name to be included on slide. A typed biography outlining education, exhibitions, and a statement about yourself and your work. A typed list detalling pieces and retail price of each numbered piece. Il CRITERIA The jurors will be looking for work that has a strong personal style and direc- tion, and thatis of consistently excellent design and technically competent. The above eriteria will be applied to the six pleces submitted and selection will be made on that basis. Il] APPLICATION OF CRITERIA The above criteria will be applied by a three-person Selections Committee. The committee will consist of two members of the Potters’ Guild Board of Directors who will be appointed by the Board. The third committee member, alsa to be appointed by the Hoard, will not be a member of the Board of Directors. The Selections Committee members will hold such a postition for a one-year term, at the end of which two members will step down. The chairperson of the committee will continue as a member of the com- mittee for one further year in order to provide continuity, However, he or she will give up the chair to an Incoming committee member. IV ANNUAL RE-JURYING In the annual rejurying the Selections Committee will apply the criteria set out in Section |. The purpose of the annual rejurying is to ensure that the ceramic work being brought to the Gallery con- Uinues to be of an acceptable standard, ¥ JURYING SCHEDULE The Selections Committee will meet three limes per year: April - After the 15th October - After the 15th Annual rejurying date (to be de- cided by the committee, bul nol later than April of any given year.) Kootenay Area Group Show VI DECISIONS The Selections Commiltee will report an ita decisions to the Board of Directors. All Selections Committee decisions will be final. Applicants will be informed by letter of decisions within six weeks of subrnis- sion deadline. Vil CHAIRPERSON The position of the chair will be ap- pointed by the Selections Committee. Responsibilities of the chair are: coord|- nating the jury selection, reporting its decisions to the Board, informing appli- cants of the committee's decisions, Vill GALLERY MANAGER The Gallery Manager will exercise dis- cretion in maintaining the high stand- ard of quality in the work which Is submitted for sale in the Gallery.
