Kaylyn Mailloux also won a bronze for her per- ‘formance on the beam in the same level, placing third overall. --In-the-level-two Argo division, Ashley Pelletier received gold for her floor routine. Kayla Brinkac ‘nabbed bronze overall, with silver standings in her beam and floor routines, ' Level two Tyro partici- pant Kayla McColl placed 10th on the beam. Jessica Ames placed first in level three Tyro in her floor routine. And she placed second on beam, making her fifth overall. Siobhan Sloan-McMul- len placed in the top 10 in all events, earning the fifth place ribbon. Training for the gym- Rasts starts up again in August. Knoedler bound for club nationals Carlyle said he’s proud of the work all five com- petitors put in at the meet. The meet was the first visit to provincials for Caitlin Scales and Hayley Schmiedel, It was a chance for them to see how high the pressure is ‘and to focus in a race set- ting, Carlyle said, The championships wrap up another season of competition for the Blue- backs with the exception of Allison Knoedler. She'll be going to Cal- gary, Alberta later this month to attend club na- tionals, Bw Nice swing Tennis tourney set THE TERRACE Tennis Club is set for its open doubles tournament Aug. 2-3. REBECCA MINAKER was the only girl to take on the Skeena Valley Golf and Country Club’s annual Junior Open July 12-13. Minaker nabbed the low net in the second flight with a score of 151. She was among 28 junior golfers and two junior juniors (under 12) who participated. Club member Scott Rigler said it was the largest turn-out in four years. “They had a really good time,” he said. The youngest competitor was Dyllan Tomas, 6, who shot a 288. Next up is the Seniors Open Aug. 16-17.
