Former labour council head
passes away in hospital

Norm Lavallee “diéd
Feb. 23 at Mills Memorial
Hospital. He was 57.

Born in Winnipeg,
Manitoba, Lavallee was
an ironworker who worked
on construction projects
throughout thé northwest.

For the last several
years, Lavallee was work-
ing in the tar sands in Fort
McMurray, Alberta.

He is survived by his
wife Olga, children Laur-
een and Jean-Paul, four
grandchildren, four bro-

Just under $1,000 was
stolen from the store’s safe
but police will not.say if
the safe was damaged or
not in the theft.

Basi. “It’s part of our in-
vestigation.”

A passing motorist saw
the broken window on the
east side of the building
and called police.

The second break-in
happened at 3 a.m, March
20. A window, also on the
east side of the building,
was smashed but police
say nothing appears to

- have been stolen.

The culprits left through
a door leading out the rear
of the building on the west
side police said,

The store is missing 10
video games, but invest-
igators are not sure if those
games went missing during
these break-ins or not.

ing anyone with informa-
tion about these break-ins
