Jim TERRACE — A number of exhibitors at the Ter- race and District Jaycees 15th Annual Trades Fair held ‘April’ 25, 26, 27 received recognition for their display booths. ‘In the Merchants Award category Terrace Co-op took first place, Azalea Garden Centre second spot and the Harley Davidson booth of Smithers was voted third. The merchants who exhibited their wares at the Trades Fair cast ballots to determine which booths they believed were most im- pressive. Artistic Excellence featured Growing with Silk, first, Terrace Co-op ‘second, and a combina- tion booth from Western Supplies and Terrace Builders placed third. The draw was made at the Trades Fair and the Sampare’s have decided to take a trip to Toronto this summer. Approximately 400 senior citizens and handicapped were admit- ted free, as were children under six years of age. Display booths were sold out with 75 entries listed. Bell said this year is the first time an airplane was featured at the Fair. An ultralight airplane was situated in the arena for visitors to view. Bell added that the fisheries department had an impressive display featuring their salmon enhancement program. - Six professional enter- tainers from Vancouver, “Susie Francis and her Gaslight Follies’, put on performances during the Fair which proved of in- terest to the audience, Bell said. \ Terrace 1.
