The Municipal Clerk advises that the cost of a newspaper ad for public
hearing has a current cost of slightly over $250.00. Four of these ads are
required for each application. The mailing of the necessary notices increases
the cost to the City to about $1,200.00, excluding staff time.

It is therefore recommended that the amendments to Bylaw No. 2243 noted
abcve be approved.
