Holiday Shopping Regulation Act HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows: Interpretation 1. In this Act ®council", ; in relation to a regional district, means a regional board; ®electors", ain velation to a regional district, means the electors in an elec~ toral area of the regional district; *holiday” Means Sunday, New Year's Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Dominion “Day, British ColumbLa Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Remembrance Day, Christmas Day, December 26 and a day designated for special ob- secvance within the terms of section 7; *“munieipality", with respect to an area of the Province not in a municipality but in ® regional district, meang a regional district; "retail business" . means the selling or offering for sale of goods or services for con~ gumption or use and not for resale and includes ¢a) the selling or offering for sale of goods and services by hawk- ers and peddlars, and (6) charging the public zor admission to a place or facility for educational,. recreational, cultural or amusement purposes; fretall establishment" wheans any place where retail business is carried on; “echeduled business" ' means a retail business included in one of the classes of retail business listed in Schedule A. . General prohibition of holiday sales 2. Wo person shall carry on retail business or admit the public to a vetall establishment on a holiday except (a) as permitted under section Ll of the Lord's Day Act (Canada), (b) in respect of a scheduled business, (c) 38 permitted by the bylaw of a municipality adopted in accord- jance with section 3, or (dj) an permitted in an order of the Lieutenant Governor in Council under section 7.
