The Inaugural Ceremonies and Statutory Meeting of the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam were held in the Gymnasium of the Hyde Creek Recreation Centre, 1379 Laurier Avenue, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on December 4th, 1978, at 8:00 p.m. His Worship Mayor.J.M. Campbell, Aldermen J.J. Keryluk, G.R. Laking, E.W. Mabbett, P.F. Ranger, L.M. Traboulay, and M.R. Wright in attendance. Also in attendance were Chief. Administrative Officer L.D. Pollock, City Clerk R.A. Freeman, City Engineer F.E. Peters, P. Eng., City Planner L. Lee, City Treasurer J.G.S. Maitland, Senior Building Inspector N. Chernoff, Fire Chief W.S. Wingrove, Deputy Fire Chief J. Boileau, Mrs. M. Warwick, and Mrs. D.L. Vyse. ‘DEDICATORY PRAYER: Dedicatory Prayer Pastor Ken Stevenson offered a Dedicatory Prayer for the Council. STATUTORY DECLARATIONS: Statutory Declarations His Worship Mayor J.M. Campbell then called on Provincial Court & Oaths of Allegiance- Judge F.C. Giles to receive the required Statutory Declarations and Ald.Ranger, Traboulay and administer the Oath of Allegiance to: | Wright Phillip Francis Ranger ~ Alderman Leonard Macaulay Traboulay Alderman Michael Ronald Wright : Alderman who then officially. took their places. as Aldermen of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam. Mayor Campbell then called the Statutory Meeting to order. Mayor Campbell thanked Constable Linda Baxter of the R.C.M.P. who was on duty as Guard of Honour for the meeting and welcomed Mrs. Giles and daughter, Andrea, and then introduced Mr. George Carlisle, Director of Finance and Administration of the Greater Vancouver Regional District. ALDERMEN'S REMARKS: Aldermen's Remarks: Alderman Mabbett addressed the meeting, and stated he has been Alderman Mabbett Chairman of the Public Works Committee for 1978 and that it has been a good year in his Department. Alderman Mabbett advised there has been a change in senior staff and introduced the new City Engineer, Mr. F.E. Peters, P. Eng. and advised the citizens of Port Coquitlam to notify the
