RE: COST SHARING FORMULA FOR RAMP IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

Your staff prepzred plans and Specifications for improving the Famp facility
and estimated the work to cost $17,000, Tenders were called for the project
and bids ware received, ranging from $35,908 to $47,565. The Committee at

its July 12, 1973 meeting rejected al] bids and asked the staff to investigate
ways and means of financing the total project.

The Ramp User's Survey conducted during the 1973 boating season has produced
Some interesting results, The four major users of the ramp are as follous:.... .
Burnaby . ~ 24.3%
Coquitlam 27.5%
Port Coquitlam V1.9%
Port Hoody 12.8%

In the opinion of your staff, the Ramp Comittee should approach tha Districts
of Coquitian and Port Coquitlam and ask then to contribute to the cost of
iwpraving the rap factlittes. A cost Sharing formula based on the current use
Pattern is suggested as. the best approach that the Ramp Committee shouie use

at an Inter-Nunicipal Comittee meeting to be held in Yate Novenber,

Any balance required for the Project will have to be shared equally with the
participating members of the Ramp operation namely Burnaby and Port Moody.

The existing bids indicate a realistic Price for the Ramp Improvement, Therefore
