He was born December 10, 1928, . near Moosehorn, Manitoba. ‘Lawrence moved to Terrace in 1942 with his family. In 1945, Lawrence went. oust to work in the gold mines in Northern Ontario. He became a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks in 1958. After returning to Terrace in 1960, he became a mechanic for Columbia Cellulose and later on worked for Transport Canada at the Terrace-Kitimat Airport. In March 1968, he married Jean (Hislop) Kraft and became father to four children. His retirement years started 20 years later in 1988. He : loved fo fish, especially with his grandchildren at Kinniskan Lake and spent many hours playing cards with family and friends. Lawrence also traveled his favourite way, by motor home, throughout North America. As a prominent member of the Elks, Lawrence has held the position of secretary for the last 25 years and has helped them with their many _ endeavours over the years including Fundraising for Camp Elkness, the Shelter in Elks Park and many other events that have benefited faniies in the Terrace Area. Lawrence will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Jean, his four childen, Peggy (Stan) Sweet; Dennis Kraft; Ed Kraft; Dale (Darlene) Kraft, his grandchildren, Tamara Sweet; Russell (Kris) Sweet; Janine Kraft; Garett Kraft; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Jean and her family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to everyone that has shown kindness through thought, deed, and support * during this difficult time.
