6 Terrace Review — Wednesday, June 11, 1986 Totel Gulf champs - these youngsters put it all together and won every game as they cap- tured the mosquito division title at Terrace minor baseball's tournament on the June 1 weekend. The Totem kids downed Terrace Drugs 20-8 in the final game. Bronco toumament champs - the Prince Rupert Cleaners team went throught the Terrace bronco minor baseball tournament undefeated to capture the title In the seven-team series. They beat Terrace Elks 19-9 in the final. Totem Gulf, Rupert win minor baseball tourney Prince Rupert Cleaners and Terrace Totem Gulf emerged as champions of the annual Terrace Minor Basebal} Bronco and Mosquito tournament held at Elks Park on the June 1 weekend. The Cleaners went through the seven team, double-knockout Bronco series undefeated. They started with a 12-6 win over Northern Drugs, then faced the Elks for the first time and won 7-3. In the semi-final, Rupert took out Farko contracting 5-1, Elks came _ back through the losers’ side to take on Rupert again in the title game, but the coast kids came up with a 17-9 gold-medal per- formance. Eiks pince second - ihe }:: krackoit Terrace bronca r:: In other games, Farko beat Overwaitea 14-7 and downed Rupert Electricians 16-4. The Elks then downed Telkwa 21-9. Electricians eliminated Overwaitea 13-3 before Northern Drugs won a 1-0 default victory over Telkwa. Telkwa got mixed up on game times and only half their team showed up. The loss put them out of the tournament. Electricians then eliminated Northern Drugs 16-14, before fall- ing 11-10 to Elks who went on to win their semi-final 18-13 over Farko. This put Elks up against the champion Cleaners. It was an undefeated series for Totem Gulf in the five- team double-knockout Mosquito tourney. The Gulf lads started with an 11-5 win over Terrace Drugs, then pounded Co-op 22-4 before edg- ing Prince Rupert 7-6 to gain a berth in the final. In the Championship game, the Gulfers thumped Terrace Drugs 20-8. The Drugs team earlier downed Prince Rupert 13-7 in the semi-final. In other games, Prince Rupert started with an 18-3. win over Terrace Esso. Terrace Drugs then beat the Esso squad 20-12. Then Drugs posted a 20-10 win over Co-op to knock them out.
