These significant steps have been taken largley as a
result of requests that were made by provinces
wanting to establish commuter rail services. While
the impetus for the establishment of a commuter rail
service in our area still must rest with the
‘provincial government, I want you to know that these
measures represent a real commitment on the part of
our government to realizing action in this area.

I urge you to make this known, not only to the
provincial authorities, but to the general public,
$9 that we can continue to work together to realize
our goal of a commuter rail service into our area.
