Page B8 - The Terrace Standard, Wednesday, May 19, 1993 Club hopes for rally flush Drivers, start your engines! The Skeena Valley Car Club is hosting their first Poker Run rally this weekend. The action starts at Ihe North- west Community College parking lot at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 23. Participants will drive around town collecting clues that will help them find their way to the next location. There are eight such places in total. The twist is that the envelopes at each location will include a playing card in addition to the next clue. At the end of the rally, whoever has the best poker hand wins the big prize — a mobile safety/first aid kit. If all this sounds like just a bunch of driving around and gambling, it’s not, “It’s going to a good cause,” says club member Doug McKay. “We're helping out the food bank.’’ There’s no entry fee, bul participants are required to bring two things: a can of food for the food bank and an unscratched lot- tery ticket, The food goes to the food bank and at the end of the rally all the lottery tickets will be scratched, with half those winnings also ” going to the food bank. For more information call Doug McKay at 635-4809.
