That City Council authorize entering into a lease of 2280 Elgin at the price of $325 per month, effective May 19, 1994, 2. That City Council authorize the opening of a Police work station at 2280 Elgin. Background and Comments: The Police Work Station will be an extension of the main detachment, providing a place where the officers can do their paper work such as court documents, make phone calls, process local shoplifters, _ interview suspects and witnesses, etc. The Work Station type of office will bring the officers closer to eo the business community for more visibility and availability. : This above mentioned local is suited for this type of office and is a 8 ‘od starting point working towards a full Community Oriented Police Station. The terms of the lease of the property are as follows: e the rent to be paid by the city is $325 per month which would include property taxes, water and sewer utilities, | the owner of the property would be responsible for major repairs the city would pay heat, light and phone utilities the term of the lease would be one year with the option of an additional year at the same terms. if approved, the RCMP would be occupying the building almost immediately.
