The Coquitlam Indian Band requests that the City grant temporary access based on the proposed access route No.5 with the following undertakings: a) b) c) d) e) f) 8) h) Working hours of 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, six days a week. A wheel wash will be constructed. The access road will be blocked with a gate in the evening. A flag person will be provided at Shaughnessy and Nacht during the trucking operations. A crossing guard will be provided at Shaughnessy and Nacht at the times school children will be crossing the road. Approximately 75 trucks per day will be using access route #5. Permission to use access route No. 5 is requested for a period of up to eight months. That as a condition of approval the Coquitlam Indian Band undertake a commitment to pursue all means available to obtain an access to Pitt River Road shown as access route No. 1 on Plan No. 1 attached to Council Agenda and dated February 2, 1994. If access route #1 becomes available earlier, the band will use access route #1 and stop using access route #5. That the Coquitlam Indian Band enter into an Agreement with the City of Port Coquitlam to provide fire protection and other municipal services to the Coquitlam Indian Reserve. That the Coquitlam Indian Band meet the City’s requirement for public liability insurance and Highway Use Permit. Carried, Councillors Gordon and Keryluk voted against the resolution. From the City Engineer, February 3rd, 1994 regarding Request for Four-way Stop Sign - Raleigh and Gordon. That Council authorize the City Clerk to amend Bylaw No. 1117 to include the installation of a four-way stop sign at Raleigh Street and Gordon Avenue. Defeated. Councillor Keryluk voted in favour of the resolution.
