Kirk City Aministrator Ws Brown Director of Community Planning Rezoning Application (File No. 23/88) 2334 McAllister Avenue RECOMMENDATION: That City Council direct the Clerk's Office to prepare a by law rezoning Parcel A, Lot 16, Block 2, D.L. 379, NWLD Plan 1213, Lot 17, Block 2, D.L. 379 NWLD Plan 1213 E halt and wW half, Lot 18, Block 2, D.L. 379 NwLp Plan 1213 from RS-1 to RM-5. COMMENTS: This application is to develop a 52 unit Senior Citizen Apartment Complex. This proposed complex {is to be financed under the B.C. Housing Management Programme, similar to the Elk's project at Wilson-Mary Hill intersection. The proposal helps achieve one the Community Plan's central goals of strengthening downtown by encouraging more high density housing. Design of the proposal is similar to other multipte family buildings in the downtown area. Where the proposal is superior to other multi storey apartment buildings is its fncluding outside recreation space and heavy landscaping. In conclusion, approval of this application is proposed.
