Moved by Alderman Farnworth Seconded by Alderman Laking That Council convey its cpposition to the proposed amendment to the Grain Transportation Act to the Minister of Transport, the Honourable John Crosbie and Gerry St. Germain, MP. And That the Manager of Economic Development monitor this situation and work with the Vancouver Port Community to sustain opposition to the proposed amendment until such time as the issue has been resolved. NP/14/87/03/30/00 From Vancouver City Clerk, March 5th, 1987, regarding Dr. Blatherwick!s report to Vancouver City Council dealing with Acquired Immuno-Deficiency Syndrome and requesting that Port Coquitlam City Council consider contributing to a AIDS educational and community volunteer program fund on the basis of 12 1/2 cents per capita. Moved by Alderman Farnworth: Seconded by Alderman Stewart: That the letter and report dated March 5th, 1987 from the Vancouver City Clerk be received and referred to the Environmental Protection Committee for further study. Carried. DEVELOPMENT VARIANCE PERMIT: PZ/15/87/03/30/61 From the City Clerk, March 18th, 1987 regarding Development Variance Permit 2/87. No one was present to speak against the Development Variance Permit. Moved by Alderman Keryluk: seconded by Alderman Laking: That as recommended by the Director of Community Planning in his memorandum of March 6th, 1987 a Development Variance Permit be approved to authorize reduction of the side yard requirements of the Zoning Bylaw No. 2240 Section 801, RS-1, Subsection (5) (a) Interior Sideyards from 1.2 meters To 0.88 meters for the sideyard of Lot 20 beside Lot 19, Block 3, Del. 479, NWLD Plan 2134. Carried.
