Alderman Ranger inquired if the Kingsway underpass, that was being reconstructed as part of the new Mary Hill By-pass, had been open to traffic yet and the City Engineer stated that it was now opened for one lane traffic only. Alderman Mabbett expressed concern regarding candidates election signs that were apparently illegally posted on City property and advised that one candidate in particular had numerous such signs. He requested that the necessary corrective measures be taken without delay. Alderman Mabbett also expressed concern regarding the lighting at the new Reeve Street Soccer Field and suggested that even though the lights were controlled by a time cleck an override switch was needed so that the lights would not be burning when there is no one actually using the field. Mayor Laking advised that this matter would be investigated. Alderman Traboulay inquired if the schedule of ice usage that had been approved by Council for the Recreation Centre was available to Lhe public as he had received a recent complaint that a citizen had been denied access to the schedule. It was generally agreed by the Council that the schedule should be available to the general public, upon request.
