On Monday, March 3! the suspect was alleged to have waited on the floor inside a woman’s car which was parked on the east side - of McDonald’s Restaurant. The person produced a knife and ordered the victim to drive to Thorn- hill over the Old Skeena Bridge. The car was a white- over-blue Ford Fair- mont, RCMP ask anyone seeing a native male, ap- proximately 5’6’’ and 130 pounds, with long shoulder-length hair, and a pocked face on the date of March 31 to con- tact the Terrace Police Detachment. The male is estimated to be in his late teens or early 20s and said to have been wearing a black leather jacket. Police said the woman escaped without harm. Fire On Tuesday, April | the Terrace Fire Depart- ment was called to attend a blaze behind the Shan Yan Restaurant. The fire was in a garbage can. After arriving at the scene of the blaze the Fire Department noticed it was a garbage can and the side of Danny’s Pool Hall which was actually on fire. In the process of put- ting the blaze out, the Fire Department noticed that the Medical Clinic’s garbage can was on fire too. The blaze caused little smoke damage to: the Medical Clinic. The Fire Chief said it was obvious that someone had pur- posely lit both fires. The finalists were the Kitimat Karate Club, Half Way Hairy of Kitimat, Audrey Faber of Terrace and the Heritage Show Musical Theatre from Terrace. The entertainers will be performing at the B.C. Pavilion from August 10-16, Although the per- formers who will be entertaining audiences on site at Expo this sum- mer are subsidized, it will still be at a cost to themselves, said Geri Fletcher, regional pro- ducer of the Expo ad- visory committee. Throughout the next few months there will be fund-raisers held in Ter- race. The continued sup- port of the performers’ efforts would be much appreciated, said Flet- cher. One way local resi- dents might support per- formers is to hire them for a local function, said Fletcher, speaking on behalf of the North/ Northwest Regional Ad- visory Committee.
