SUBJECT: Commuter Rail

Recommendation

That the attached letter to the Honourable Rita Johnston,
MP, Joy Langan and Ian Waddell concerning accessibility to
commuter rail be approved.

Background & Comments

The Committee for Persons with Special Needs, at their last meeting,
discussed the question of accessibility on public transit and in
public facilities; for persons with disabilities, The committee
strongly recommends that the future commuter rail link must be
completely accessible to person i i ili 3 whether they be
in wheelchairs, whether they ar i hey are hearing
impaired ete. That the necessary items; i.e. equipment etc. for
accessibility be included at the planning Stage of commuter rail.
