Moved by Alderman Muldoon:

That a letter be written to the B.C. Power Commission advising of
the Council's objections to the degree of the proposed rate increase
application by B.C. Hydro and Power Authority.

Lost for want of a seconder.

Alderman Wright stated in his opinion a letter to the B.C. Power
Commission at this time would not have the desired effect and proposed
the following resolution.

Seconded by Alderman Muldoon:

That a letter be written to the Provincial Government requesting
thac legislation be presented to require public hearings for B.C. Hydro
and Power Authority rate increase applications to the B.C. Power Commission.
Carried.
Alderman Traboulay stated in his opinion a statement of the City's
opposition to the proposed rate increase should be prepared and presented
to the B.C. Power Commission by a member of Council.

That Acting-Mavor M.D. Gates or his delegate be directed to present
Council's opposition to the application for a proposed rate increase by

B.C. Hydro and Power Authority.

Alderman: Wright expressed concern regarding this request due to the Use of City Park.
absence of specific details on times and dates. Alderman Traboulay
expressed concern regarding the request for use of parks from time to

time and suggested the request be approved for a one time basis only.

be denied.

approval be given for one week beginning July 28th, 1981.
