That as outlined in the Memorandum from the Planning and Zoning
Committee dated January 15th, 1976, a public information meeting be held
with the Cedar Drive residents in order that the nature and effects of
the proposed development (as outlined in rezoning application R#1/76 —
Meridian Developments Ltd.) can be discussed with the affected residents.

From the Planning and Zoning Committee, January iSth, 1976 with
reference to an application to rezone properties at 2236 and 2244 Atkins
from RM~2 to RM-4 to permit the construction of a 13-suite apartment
building. The City Plamiing Offiser described the proposed development
and provided Architectutal sketches and. preliminary floor plans and
advised that the development would consist of 9 two-bedroom units, 2

one-bedroom units and 2 bachelor units for a total of 13 units.

That as recommended in a report of the Planning and Zoning Committee,
Janvary 15th, 1976 application R#15-75 to rezone Lots 43 to 45, Block M
&N, D.L. 289, Plan 2078, known as 2236 and 2244 Atkins Avenue from RM~2
(Medium Density Apartment Residential) to RM-4 (Maximum Density Apartment
Residential) to permit construction of a 13 suite apartment building, be
approved.

Speaking to the resolution, Alderman Traboulay edvised that the
Committee had been assured by the Developer that the units will be
placed on the market in the A.H.O.P. price range for housing. Alderman
Ranger indicated he would be in favour ef the rezening, providing the

plans would be placed before the Design Panel for approval prior to any
permits being issued. Discussion regarding the amount of controi “LES
City maintains with respect to guaranteeing construction of the building
design presented at the time of a rezoning application took place at
some length and the Council was assured by the City Planning Officer and
the City Administrator that every attempt is made to ensure completion
of the project as proposed,
