A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of the Corporation of The City
of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chambers, Port Coquitlam City Hall,
2580 Shaughnessy Street, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on Monday, April 13th, 1992, at
7:30 pem.

Mayor L.M. Traboulay and Aldermen M.D. Gates, M.J. Gordon, J.J. Keryluk,
RH. Talbot, M.A. Thompson and M.R. Wright were in attendance.

Also in attendance were City Administrator B.R. Kirk, City Clerk S. Rauh,
City Engineer I. Zahynacz, City Treasurer J.G.S. Maitland, Acting Director of
Planning J. Lee, Parks and Recreation Director K.J. Taylor, Director of
Building Permits and Inspections J. Shardlow and Fire Chief J. Baillie.

‘PROCLAMATION:

WHEREAS: 1990 begins the United Nations International Decade of Natural
Disaster Mitigation; | : oo |
WHEREAS: The Government of British Columbia recognizes the public benefit

provided by the emergency planning and response activities of volunteers,
_ Industry and local government throughout the Province; — . ne

| WHEREAS: The Government of British Columbia, upon behalf of all citizens,

deems it appropriate to recognize the public safety benefits provided by all

emergency planners and. response agencies;

WHEREAS: It is considered prudent to further encourage and promote emergency
preparedness; ne _

AND WHEREAS: Our Lieutenant-governor, by and with the advice and consent of ©
‘the Executive Council, has been pleased to direct by Order in Council in that

behalf that a Proclamation be issued designating April 12 to 18, 1992,
inclusive, as “Emergency Preparedness Week" in British Columbia, re

NOW THEREFORE: I, Leonard M. Traboulay, Mayor of the Corporation of The City
of Port Coquitlam, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM the week of April 12 to 18, 1992 7
