Dear Potters, | Our next General Meeting will be held at & P.M., Wednesday April 21st. at the Unitarian Church at 49% and Oak Street, Vancouver. PROGRAM: Fred Owen from Douglas College will give a talk and slide show on Raku. They have had many Raku workshops at Douglas College, one re- cently, so I'm sure Fred will have some excellent slides. Don't miss this, Fred's programs are always great. Werner True, from the Mido Gallery, will give a brief outline of the plans of the newly. Formed Visual Arts Society of 8.C. This is a very busy time for potters in 8.C. Many things are happening here in the next few months as well as the National Ceramic Exhibition which will be held in Calgary this fall. Deadline for entries: July 16% 1976. 68.C. CERAMICS '76: The May 1st deadline for entries is coming up fast ! We are hoping to make this an outstanding show. Visitors to HABITAT will be in Vancouver at that time. There will be people from all over the world so let's show them the very best pottery in 8.C. Money available for awardsis approximately $1500.00. Ruth Meechan hasbeen doing a great job soliciting funds to add to the Guild's donation. Hannah Kristmanson has been working since February on all the details involved in producing this show. She will need helpers on Friday May 21st from 10 A.M. - 10 P.M. to check in the pots and set them up for the jury, also a few people to look after the refreshments for the opening, & P.M. Sunday, May 23rd. The Guild is staffing the Gallery at the Planetarium for the duration of the show, May 24% to June 6% inclusive. See Hannah at the meeting to offer your help. CAPILANO COLLEGE Students Arts and Crafts Exhibition will be displayed on the North Mall at Park Royal, April 12% - 17%. The 2nd NATIONAL COLLEGE Students Ceramics and Glass Exhibition is being shown at the Burnaby Art Gallery, April 14% to May 9%. This is a travell- ing show made up of work from colleges across Canada. It started in Halifax in September 1975. The VANCOUVER COMMUNITY ARTS COUNCIL is showing, at their office at 315 West Cordova Street, a Photographic Exhibition relating to problems in housing the world's exploding population, showing living conditions in the world's crowded cities. This exhibition is shown as part of the program for HABITAT. POTTERY SALE at the House of Ceramics, April 13%-24t. Also at the House of Ceramics, April 20-24%, an exhibition of Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower orrengande There will be a special display Easter Monday April 19% From 11 A.M. ta & P.M. MALASPING COLLEGE and the Arts Council of Nanaimo Regional District are sponsoring their Second Annual Craft Exhibition which will be held May 3rd - 6% at the Credit Union Hall, Nanaimo, 8.C. HABITAT CRAFT FESTIVAL will be held May 21st to July 5% with displays in and around the G.P.R. Station. A JURIED EXHIBITION of ARTS and CRAFTS will be presented by the Community Arts Council of the Alberni Valley at the EchoCentre, Port Alberni, June &th to 6%.
