Re: 1995 Utility rates and budgets

Budget and Administration Committee meeting - November 3194.

Recommendations:

1. That the proposed utility rates for 1995 be approved as handwritten on the attached rate
schedules.

2. That the 1995 utility budgets be approved.
Background and comments:

Water Utility

Attached is the provisional budget for the Water Utility for 1995.

Rate increase:

The proposed rate increase for 1995 is $10.80 per year per residential unit (assuming the prompt
payment discount is taken). This is an increase of 7.3% from our 1994 rates.

The rate charged covers both the cost of services provided by the City as well as the supply of
water to the City by the Greater Vancouver Water District (GVWD). A breakdown of our flat

rate is as follows:

It is proposed that metered and other rates in our bylaw be increased by the same percentage as
