Background & Comments: The Committee considered the attached review of the report prepared Yamilton Associates entitled Intersection Study Prairie Avenue and C Meridian Road, dated March, 1990. The Committee felt that most of recommended changes to the Coast Meridian/Prairie intersection recommend: : the report should be done at the time that the Coast Meridian Ro : is reconstructed up to Prairie Road, possibly in 1991. However, Committe- also felt that some improvements should be done at this time in order to solve some problems like the left hand turn movement from Prairie to the new shopping centre at the northeast corner of Prairied and Coast Meridian. At this time, the Committee felt that the signal time should be adjusted for the Coast Meridian/Prairie traffic signal to provide for a five second intergreen clearance travel interval for both phases, that the R.C.M.P. be requested to continue to do periodic checks for speeding and other violations for the intersections, that the centre median be constructed on Prairie east of Coast Meridian in order to restrict left turn movements from eastbound traffic to the driveway at the new shopping centre at the northeast corner of the intersection, and that other improvements recommended by Hamilton Associates be considered at the time that Coast Meridian Road is reconstructed. It is estimated that the cost of constructing a 1.2 metre wide median along Prairie Avenue east of Coast Meridian Road would be $5,500.00. af. Fibte<4 hike Pat Ma | ra . yietz; P.
