April 18th, 1977 A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chamber, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2272 McAllister Avenue, Port Coquitlam, B.C., on April 18th, 1977, at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor J.M. Campbell, Aldermen J.J. Keryluk, G.R. Laking, P.F. Ranger, M.A. Thompson, and L.M. Traboulay in attendance. Also in attendance were Chief Administrative Officer L.D. Pollock, City Clerk R.A. Freeman, City Engineer V.G. Borch, P. Eng., Recreation Director Janna Taylor, Planning Officer Lanson Lee, Fire Chief W.S. Wingrove, Works & Utilities Superintendent G. Ulmer, and Mrs. B.M. Aalten. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES: Moved by Alderman Ranger: Minutes ~ Apr.4/77 Seconded by Alderman Laking: That the minutes of a regular meeting of this Council held on April 4th, 1977, be taken as read and adopted. DELEGATIONS: From the City Clerk, April 15th, 1977, advising that following a D.MacDonald re use of meeting of the Environmental Protection Committee with Mr. Don MacDonald PoCo House by. New View subsequent to its report to Council on March 21st, 1977 recommending Society f that the use of "PoCo House" by the New View Society be denied, no further recommendation was made in that regard, and that Mr. MacDonald would be present this evening to discuss the subject with Council. On invitation of His Worship the Mayor, Mr. MacDonald, President of the Western Association for Youth, spoke in support of the request made in his letter of March 7th, 1977 that the New View Society be given possession of the front portion of PoCo House, with the rear section rented out to pay for the property and provide some security in the evenings. Mr. MacDonald stated he felt the Society is presently operating under appalling conditions at the Dalkey building, and that PoCo House, with its many rooms, etc., offers an ideal solution. Mr. MacDonald advised that the Society asststs some 80 handicapped persons In its programme, and expressed the hope that the Provincial Government would
