Also a success was the Coins for Cody campaign, with young children sometimes donating their piggybanks to help Cody's family. ’ Man goes on rampage A 35-YEAR-OLD man went on a violent rampage in Terrace last weekend, choking one woman, stabbing a youth and holding two people hostage. Police finally arrested the man, who has no fixed address, at a home in the 4600 block of Scott Ave in the early morning hours of Sept. 27. There, he had been holding two 17-year-old male residents against their will at knife-point. One of the youths had suffered a minor stab wound to the leg. Police also learned that the man had earlier chased a 14- year-old youth at knife-point. And further investigation revealed that the man had assaulted a 39-year-old Terrace woman by choking her and hitting her in the face at a house party in the same neighbourhood. The man faces possible charges of forcible confinement, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, assault, break and enter, uttering threats of death, possession of a con- trolled substance, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace and breach of probation. Touching leads to assault AN 11-YEAR-OLD Terrace girl was attacked twice Sunday, first by an alder man, then later by the man’s daugh- ter wielding a broken glass. Police say that at about 8 p.m, Sept 28, a 63-year-old man allegedly approached the girl in an apartment building in the 4600 block of Scott Ave. and offered her money in exchange for sexual favours. When she refused, he apparently grabbed her in a sexual manner, The man was arrested a short time later in a neigh- bouring apartment. About four hours later, the man’s 35-year-old daughter threatened and attacked the 11-year-old girl, hitting her repeatedly with a broken glass. Police and neighbours responded quickly to prevent serious injury. The woman faces charges of assault, assault with a wea- pon, assaulting a peace officer and obstruction of justice, Her father could face charges of sexual assault, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching. Both are currently in custody. Musicians’ gear stolen THE TERRACE MUSICIANS’ Association suffered a huge blow Sunday when their stereo equipment was stolen from a Thornhill residence. Police say the break-and-enter occurred sometime during the evening of Sept. 28, Stolen were two monitor speakers, two speakers and speaker poles. The Association, a registered non-profit group uses this equipment to play coffee houses in Terrace. It took the group two or three years to raise the money needed to buy the equipment. “It’s a major setback,” says spokesperson Greer Kaiser. “But we still have our mixer, thank goodness.” Heroin, pot seized TWO TERRACE residents have been charged with the possession and cultivation of marijuana, and the possession of heroin for the purposes of trafficking.
