Also pointed out in the brief is that area proposed for Okan- agan-Kootenay is too separated geographically, economically and politically to provide a satis- factory basis for representation. It says that Cranbrook, Kimber- ley, Crows Nest Pass areas have very little connection with the Okanagan Valley. The Communist Party brief says that the new horseshoe- shaped riding would haveno links as far as communications, press, radio or political organizations are concerned, “Social and poli- tical intercourse between these two distinctly separated areas are unnatural, if not impossible,” it says. It proposes that the Okanagan and Kootenay areas be defined into separate constituencies with - eastern and western boundaries following generally the mountain ridges of the Valley. TO URS | .
