- THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM Re: Lobb Ave. ~2- . Apr 28/82 1. It has been pointed out that we are creating a private road for the residents of Lobb Avenue at the expense of the taxpayers. 2. The question is asked whether other residents can have the same privileges for their street. 3. It is pointed out that there is no valid choice for a driver once he gets onto Shaughnessy Street except to turn around and come back or use the lane. 4, One of the letters addresses the extra traffic in the lane or U-turns at the entrance to the lane. 5. Several of the letters point out that there are long line-ups early in the morning on Pitt River Road, possibly due to trains, and that the residents of Mary Hill deserve the right to cut into this traffic which is largely from Maple Ridge. in summary, the Committee feels that we have accomplished what we set out to do in indicating to the residents of Mary Hill that the use of Lobb Avenue is undesirable. The further continuation of these turn restrictions would not be desirable from a traffic engineering or enforcement point of view. F.E. Peters, P». Bng., . City Engineer FEP/sgg Attachments
