That the Statutory Inaugural Meeting of the Municipal Council The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam required pursuant fo provisions of Section 159 of the Municipal Act be held on Monday, December 5th, 1977, at 8:00 p.m. in the Gymnasium, Hyde Creek Recreation Centre, 1379 Laurier Avenue, Port Coquitlam, B. C. Carried. Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: WHEREAS a breakage in a section of the City watermain occurred at the intersection of Pooley Avenue and Eastern Drive in the early morning of September 18th, 1977; AND WHEREAS the said breakage was not the result of negligence on the part of the City, nor was the City in any way respcensible for damage to private property that subsequently occurred; AND WHEREAS three requests for payment of damages have been received and it is the desire of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam to pay such claims; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that an application be made to the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing under Section 217 of the Municipal Act for permission to pay the following claims: Wilhelmus Jacobus Piket and Maate Johanna Piket 1562 Pitt River Road $ 160.00 John Arthur Trigardi 2062 Pooley Avenue 1098.00 Anthony John Setchell and Joan Setchell 1563 Rita Place CORRESPONDENCE & PETITIONS: From Mr. Pete Turko, Manager of Theo's Cabaret, 2232 McAllister Avenue asking permission to place a portable sign on the corner of McAllister and Shaughnessy in the parking lot. Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That Mr. Pete Turko, Manager of Theo's Cabaret, 2232 McAllister Avenue be requested to meet with Building and Protection Committee on Wednesday, November 23rd, 1977 at 4:00 p.m. to discuss placing a mobile sigu at the corner of McAllister Avenue and Shaughnessy Street for the purpose of advertising Theo's Cabaret.
