PORT CO CU1TLAM JUNIOR ATHLETIC ASSCCTATICN

Delegation Mr. F. Cullen, Mre. Ke. Reid, and Mr. Ron Nacht.

(a) Direct grant made to Fort Coquitlam Junior Athletic Association for their
‘ administration with quarterly financial revorts to Parks and Recreation

Committec.

(bo) That locked storage be set aside for individual Sports by the Parks and
Recreation Jevartment.

(c) That the Port Coquitlaa cunior Athletic Association sumply their grant
request by November 15 of each year to the Perks and Recreation Devartment.

(a) That the Fort Cocuitlizn Junior Athletic Association Supply a general anruval
report to the Parks and Recreation Committee.

Discussion folloved re the status of the Port Coquitlam Junior Athletic
Association and their policy towards minor Sport croups in Port Coauitlan.

Ron Nacht informed the meeting that in the first year of Minor Hockey Association
operation that the Port Coauitlam Junior Athletic asscciation permitted the
expenditure of anproximately fifteen hundred dollars for Minor Hockey equipment.
Following the sponsorship drive, however, Minor Hockey did not comply with the
requirements of the Port Coauitlam Junior Athletic Association for“handlins of
funds collected. This dissrreement in procedure has led to the Minor Hockey
withdrawing from the Port Cuyuitlam Junior Athletic association.

Recommendation:

That: 12. Council recognize the Port Coquitlam Junior Athletic Association as
the official renrresentative for grant-in-aid for Minor svert groups in Port
Coquitlam and all grant-in-aid be administrated by then.
2. That the Fort Coquitlam Junior Athletic Association be required to conside
ond all minor sports in rort Coquitlam for nenbershiped gra. tis.
hot the Junior Athletic sssociation subait a cony of their constitution
Lolicies for qualifying tsembership. ;
Thst the President of each spert be represented on the executive committee
of the Port Conuitlanm Junior Athletic éssociation.
Qe That the Parks and kecreation Committee appoint one of its members as an
ex officie on the Port Coguitlam Junior Athletic Association executive committee
(the chairman or his appointee)
6. That the Port Coquitlean Junior athletic Association appoint one of their
Executive to sit on the Parks and Recreation Comaittee.
