Terrace, B.C. moe Assistance money not being used if TERRACE — The city is going to try to promote their Conven- tion Promotion Assistance Grant program. Of $5,000 budgeted for this program this year, only $1,850 have been used to date, and city council wants more people to be aware of the existence of the program. Developed about two years ago to encourage and assist local groups and organizations in hosting major t:urnaments and conventions, the program offers the Terrace host organization one dollar for every participant in their event as well as a Con- vention Kit to help organize it. Those taking advantage of the Convention Promotion Assist- ance Grants program this year included the Terrace Curling Club who received a grant of $188, the Pacific Northwest Music Festival who got $500, the United Church with $500, 1989 B.C. Summer Games Zone 7: Soccer received $180 and the Northwest Oldtimers Fastball tournament who claimed $129, Smaller grants of $67 were given to Terrace Minor Baseball and $45 claimed by the Construction Association, them .
