COUNC!L THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM JAN T 083 MEMORANDUM BR. Kirk DATE: January 06, 1993 City Administrator JE. Yip Deputy City Engineer PARKING RESTRICTIONS CHANGED - SIMON FRASER. HEALTH UNIT LOT (Public Works Committee Meeting - December 8, 1992) RECOMMENDATION: 1. That Council approve the changing of the designated permit parking lot to a public lot, and 2. that the restrictions for this lot be 6hr. Parking 8am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday with 10 stalls reserved for permit parking. The Public Works Committee considered the attache? memorandum from the Project Technician dated December 7, 1992 regarding a request from the Clerk’s Office to investigate the possibilty of changing the existing Permit parking in the lot west of Simon Fraser Health Unit to be open to the public. The reason for this chanige is chat the City Clerk feels that if this lot were open, it would free up some parking spaces in other areas of the city (ie. the City Hall staff lct at Kingsway and lane east of Shaughnessy). Committee agreed that some spaces should be left available for permit parking. The Committee approved this request at their December 8, 1992 meeting. A memorandum will be sent to the Operations Manager to request that the signs be changed. It is recommended that these signs be changed to indicate restricted parking of 6hrs and 10 spaces left available for permit parking. JE/atp attachment atp
