RS-1 Text Amendments

That City Council direct the Clerk's Office to separate and proceed with
adoption of the day care regulation changes proposed for the RS-1 zoning
district.

COMMENTS ¢

The Planning Department submitted a group of minor amendments for residential
zoning districts to City Council for adoption. In considering the amendmente,
Council requested further information about changes proposed for illegal
suites.

Amendments proposed for day care operations are to bring the regulations into
conformance with provincial standards. Essentially, the proposed regulations
are a dupiication of the provincial ones, 7 square metres per chiid out door
space and 4 square metres per child of indoor space. There are several
operators awaiting introduction of the regulations and other individuals
considering purchase of homes that have inquired. In view of this it is
requested that City Council proceed to adopt the revised day care reguiations..
