V3H 2B2 Dear Mr. Farnworth 4 couple of months ago I had the opportunity of addressing your committee regarding the possibility of cost sharing advertising for recyciing in Port Coquitlam. At the time, your committee seemed willing to accept specific proposals. I would like to present one such proposal. As you know, the Blue Bags that we use are a major source of advertising. Preliminary results an ; survey that we are currently conducting indicate that ua bags are one of the main visible nayabol aot ther reeeniing Arar and -ar@ a constant reminder to citizens to participate in the + ae ay ae SHARE Enterprises has almost exhausted its supply of blue bags for the municipality of Port Coquit)am. We are hoping to purchase another 4,000 blue bags at an astimated cost of $1000, We request that Port Coquitlam cost share this purchase on as 35Q/30 hasis. I would be willing to address either your committne or Council to present the case for your involvement in this promotional activity. ae my we, I would also like to take this opportunity to bring you up to date on a number of other events concerning the recycling program. SHARE Enterprises was successful in obtaining some federal funding (Challenge ’86) for a summer project. This preject is focussing on how best to market the recycling program. One of the main activities is to survey 1,000 households in Port Coquitlam and Port Moody. This survey should provide us with valuable information on who is and is not participating in the programs and why. We will also be using the project to promote recycling through a variety of other activities.
