An alternative nonconventional storm sewer wags ¢ examined for St. Anne Street to try to reduce the cost, This involved a perforated storm drain with filter cloth and drain rock which would result in the storm water being injected into the ground. This alternative scheme is still estimated to cost $376,000 because of the more costly construction methods. It is not recommended ag we lose the benefit of the storm sewer on Flint Street which will probably need to be installed at a later date anyway. The local improvement on Sefton Street is estimated to cost $87,000 with approximately $11,020 reccverable from the property owners, The Public Works Committee has discussed these two projects and recommends that the St. Anne project he processed for local improvement because of the tong term petition that we have had for this project. However, it would be necessary for the whole. storm sewer to be approved. in order for the project to go ahead. _—~ PIE. Peters, P. Eng. . City Encineer FEP/sgg “Attachment
