Junior Hockey League’s all-star teams for the league’s annual game at Abbotsford on Jan. 19. Ex-Terrace minor hockey player Ben Giagonni of Delta - Flyers was selected to the coast’s first all-star squad. Another ex- Terrace player, Mark Greyeyes . of Vernon Lakers, won a spot on the interior first all-star team. Kermode boys most | Both are left wingers. Biagonni’s Flyers had six. players named, while Greyeyes’ Lakers won eight places for the . game, -sportsmanlike team Caledonia Kermode boys didn’t win the B.C. schools’ senior double ‘AA’ volleyball championship at Surrey on the Dec. 5 weekend, but they came home with the highly commend- . able seventh-place trophy and the prestigious sportsmanlike team award. ‘And Kermodes’ Grant Livad- ney came up with a quality per- formance that earned him a pro- vincial second team all-star berth. Kermodes started the 12-team Coast wins at curling Prince Rupert teams won both sides of the zone high school __, curling finals held on the Dec. 5 " weekend at Houston. The three-team round-robin girls’ champion Christine Ho as she whipped both competitors. Ho beat Michelle Karey of Hazelton 12-6, and downed Chantel Moar of. Kitwanga 11-1. The other game saw Karey beat Moar 12-1. Scherk came back from an 8-7 loss to Caledonia’s Ron Sparkes ‘in his first game of the five-team - - boys’ round-robin. ‘He went on to defeat Skeena’s Ray Lang 9-2, down Smithers’ Garnet Collinson 6-2, and beat Houston’s Ryan Euverman 9-8. He finished with a three-win, one-loss mark for first place. There was a three-way tie for second with Smithers, Caledonia. and Houston all posting two- win, two-loss: records. Skeena . finished last with one win and three losses. - ~ Ho and Scherk head for B, C. finals at Williams Lake in late February.
