September 15th, 1975 A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chamber, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2272 McAllister Avenue, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on September 15th, 1975 at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor J.M. Campbell, Aldermen J.J. Keryluk, G.R. Laking, P.F. Ranger, M.A. Thompson and L.M. Traboulay in attendance. Also in attendance were Chief Administrative Officer L.D. Pollock, City Clerk R.A. Freeman, City Engineer V.G. Rorch, P.Eng., Fire Chief W.S. Wingrove, Works & Utilities Superintendent G.W. Ulmer, City Building Inspector N. Chernoff and Mrs. M.K. Warwick. Prior to the commencement of the meeting it was agreed that Item 3 of the Agenda referring to a proposed new garbage collection by-law would be deferred until after a September 30th visit to Bellingham. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES: Moved by Alderman Thompson: Minutes - Sept. 8/75 Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: That the minutes of the regular meeting of this Council held on September 8th, 1975, be taken as read and adopted. Carried. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Alderman From the City Clerk, September llth, 1975 advising thee at the Traboulay- banning of regular Council meeting held on September 8th, 1975 Alderman Traboulay stump burning} gave Notice of a Motion with respect to amending the appropriate By-law so that stump burning can be completely banned in the City. Moved by Alderman Trabculay: Seconded by Alderman Thompson: That By-law No. 928 and the Subdivision By-law be amended so that all open stump burning will be banned within the City. Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That the above noted resoiution be deferred until after the September 30th visit to Bellingham. Carried, In speaking to his original motion, Alderman Traboulay indicated that he had received numerous complaints specifically with regard to stump burning in the Cedar Drive area in the Spari. and Nu-West subdivisions, not only for the smoke created but also the fly-ash that was damaging the properties of the surrounding residents.
