Subject: A MOdern Noise Control By-Law
Gentlemen: : —

Some 6 months ago we submitved to Counci] a model noise control
by-law which it was hoped would promote discussion and lead to framing
of an adequate, enforceable by-law to curb noise which grows continually
throughout Port Coquitlam and every other progressive area.

We earnestly request you to discuss this Model Noise Control
by-law in Council? with a view to adopting such a by-law for Port Coquitiam.
We note that Burnaby recently chose to follow thiscourse rather than |
to wait for the Regional District to enact a by-law. We would be pleased

to co-operate with you in discussing technical aspects of this by-law
at any time. We are anxious to avoid lengthy delay which may follow
transfer of this Municipal Responsibility to the Regional District.
