TERRACE SKIERS ended |

the season with a bang on

April 21-23, bringing home
13 medals overall, includ-
ing one medal for most
improved racer.

The six Shames racers,
Ryan Monsees, Ben Pe-
ters, Aaron Gingles, Mi-
chael Butler, Leah Leclerc
and Stacey Blake slid into
victory at the Merrill
Lynch Northern Zone
Team Championships in
Smithers.

Monsees, Leclerc, Pe-
ters and Blake dominated
the second Super G race
held on Friday, the Giant
Slalom held on Saturday
and the Giant Slalom held
on Sunday, placing: three
for three in all three races,

Monsees won four me-
dals overall, including a
gold medal for most im-
proved racer,

Despite binding failure
in first Super G on Friday
and a disappointing ninth
place finish, Leclerc came
back in the next races to
bag ane gold and one
bronze in her division.

Both Leclerc and Blake
were fresh from the Air
Canada Whistler Cup, on
April 15-16, where Leclerc
placed SOth in the slalom
race and 52nd in the Super
G race and Blake placed
