Foundation was formed as a
result of a vision that health
care facilities at Mills
Memorial Hospital and Ter-
raceview Lodge were an im-
Portant asset to the city and our
entire northwest area,

Al the outset it was also
recognized health care dollars
would’ become more scarce

tion was incorporated Feb. 11,

and educational services un-

health ministry.

‘Developed in the 1970s, CT
Scan facllitles had become
commonplace in the larger
céntres by the mid-80s.

Physicians and specialists
were looking with increasing
frequency at using this service,
but this meant residents of the
northwest had to travel to Van-
couver or Prince George.

After extensive consultation
with both medical and techni-
cal staff, it was decided a CT
Scan service at Mills memorial
would have the immediate
benefit of providing this mod-
em service locally.

In addition, it would act as a
catalyst to further development
of acute care services in (he
northwest.

During the past 30 years
Mills Memorial has evolved
into the acute care centre for
our area. The strong com-
munity support that resulted in
the installation of CT Scan ser-
vice continues that trend and is
a tribule to you, the residents
of Terrace and area, and your
spirit of giving.
