A safety record of this kind should not go unnoticed and should be an example of what can be accomplished. This 16 years represents 5,855 days as shown on the board and for a comparison almost half a million accident free hours are represented here. Local 1-85 Safety Director We think the co-operation of members working together is one of the factors in mak- ing such an accomplishment possible and those constant reminders to each other such as “Hey, Brother, wear your goggles,” plays an important role. The pointing out of hazards and the show- ing of proper methods of doing a job by fellow workers can only lead to safer working conditions and a safe place to work. Again, our congratulations. Change time | A system that tells the motorist when his car needs servicing has been developed by the United States Servica- tor Corp. Installed under the instrument panel at the time the car is purchased, the de- vice computes engine run- ning hours and, at predeter- mined intervals, ejects cards that tell the motorist to take the car in for service — such as lubrication, oil change and tune-up. I | I I After nearly two years of hearings, more than seven ! million words of testimony, and at an estimated cost of ten million dollars, the inquiry into the B.C. Work- | men’s Compensation system has finally ended. | The IWA was one of the 109 organizations submit- ting briefs at the hearings, and is waiting with keen | interest the report of Mr. Justice Tysoe on his findings. | The speculation is that it will be some time before | the Report is ready due to the vast amount of material | to be studied. 4 “Gloves!!
