CONSI On February 25, 1991 Counsil approved McElhanney Engineering Services Ltd. to be hired as the consulting engineers for this project. Total fees approved were $40,000 if the project proceeded to construction after receipt of the Revenue Sharing Grants. The original consulting engineering fee estimate did not anticipate Engineering survey layout and inspection of the watermain since we had intended to do it with City crews. Because of the busy construction season for our City crews we found it necessary to contract the watermain construction along with the road re-construction. This will increase the consulting fee by approximately $5,000 to cover additional lay out, inspection and administration. Therefore the new total fee would be $45,000. This Committee will recall in 1990. the City applied for a Revenue Sharing Grant for the road re-construction of Westwood at the same time as the District of Coquitlam applied for a grant for their half of the road works. The District of Coquitlam’s 1990 grant application was approved however, the City’s application was not and Council deferred the project until such - time as a Revenue Sharing Grant was available. The City applied again in 1991 for a road construction grant as well as a water construction grant for this project under the Revenue Sharing Act and are optimistic that both will be approved. Therefore we are making our recommendations for award of the contract contingent upon ' official notification of receipt of these grants. It is the intent not to take the recommendation for award back to Council once the grants are received, unless they are different from those applied for. In summary we applied for the following two grants: Water Construction Grant - $56,250 (25% of $225,000) Road Construction Grant - $365,000 (50% of $730,000) — C.F. (Kip) Gaudry, P. Eng.
